本作は、メネとエリオという二人の女王の統治の違いを描く、
日本古代を舞台としたギリシャ神話風の架空叙事詩です。

『魏志倭人伝』の記述を下敷きにしつつ、
『日本書紀』『古事記』などに記された天照大神や八百万神の合議の神話を参考に、
古代の王権を「神託による支配」から「共議による統治」へと移行する物語として再構築します。

メネは鬼道をもって天の声を聞き、
神託によって倭国を導いた巫女王。
しかしその死後、男王の時代を経て、国は混乱に陥ります。

そのとき十三歳の少女、エリオが即位し、
彼女はメネの轍を踏まず、神々と人々の合議による新しい統治を試みます。
エリオは、天照大神が織りと稲作により神と人を結んだように、
働くこと、語り合うこと、そして祈りと労働をひとつにする政治を目指します。

『エピキア』は、メネからエリオへ――
「火の巫女から光の乙女へ」。

筆者とGPTの共創によって生まれた、架空の離島エピキアから語られる神話的物語です。
学術書ではなく、AI時代の詩的フィクションとして構築されています。

This work is a fictional mythic narrative in the style of Greek epics,
depicting the difference between two queens — Mene and Elio —
and their contrasting ways of rule.

While inspired by historical notes in the Wei Zhi Woren-zhuan
and mythic episodes from Nihon Shoki and Kojiki,
the story re-imagines Japan’s ancient kingship as a transition
from rule by divine oracle to governance by council.

Mene ruled through the mysterious art of kido,
hearing the voices of the gods and guiding the land in sacred solitude.
After her death, chaos reigned under a male ruler.

Then a thirteen-year-old girl, Elio, rose to the throne.
Rejecting her predecessor’s path, she established a new form of rule —
one based on dialogue between gods and humankind.
Like Amaterasu, who wove cloth and nurtured the rice fields,
Elio unites labor and prayer, weaving divine light into daily life.

Epikia is not a scholarly text but a poetic fiction —
a myth born from the collaboration between the author and GPT,
told from an imaginary island at the edge of time.
